Finance Administrator / Finance Coordinator

The Cheltenham Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales Stadium.

The Role – Finance Coordinator

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your main focus will be supporting two key areas within our busy Finance team. This includes completing daily bank reconciliations for the two bank separate bank accounts (the Trust and the trading subsidiary), as well as providing professional finance support for the Trust’s events programme. Your key duties will include:

  • Reconciling the two separate bank accounts for the charity and its trading subsidiary, including investigating and correcting any unreconciled items for Head of Finance approval
  • Taking responsibility for the production and payment of accurate and timely settlements for contracted performances and all ticketed events across the Trust
  • Monthly reconciliation of the ticket sales holding account (and any other Trust holding accounts)
  • Completing month end reconciliations for the events programme including preparing accruals and adjustments to support the production of accurate monthly management information to deadlines
  • Providing monthly profit summary reports to the Programming Consultant and the Commercial Manager comparing actual performance against forecasted expectations

Our Requirements – Finance Coordinator

  • Proven experience working in a similar finance role, including experience with completing financial reconciliations / analysis, and specifically bank reconciliations
  • Experience gained preparing month end accruals and adjustments, to support the production of accurate and timely management accounting information
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with experience using integrated financial management and business systems and financial reporting tools
  • Superb organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail and ability to work at pace to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a positive, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Able to work independently without direct supervision

Although not essential, a recognised accountancy qualification such as AAT or equivalent, as well as experience gained in a finance role within a charity environment and / or experience working with event financial settlements would be advantageous.
