Seasonal Admissions Assistant (Customer Service)

Multiple roles available, fixed term contract from July 2022 until 8th January 2023

Each year, we have plenty of exciting seasonal opportunities within our Retail, Operation, Admissions and Food and Beverage teams, to undertake a variety of tasks such as picking stock in our warehouse, stewarding the car parks, working in our gift shops, welcoming guests, or serving food and drinks to our 2 million visitors. No two days will be the same!

The Role - Seasonal Admissions Assistant

An Admissions Assistant is often the first person our visitors come into contact with at the Zoo; whether that be on the day at our admission lanes and tills or by answering their email enquiries and phone calls pre/post visit.

You will also be involved in the sale and delivery of commercial products and services. This will include welcoming guests who are taking part in some of our Experiences and checking them in at Adventure HQ, as well as working during Zoo Events such as The Lanterns. The role involves some cleaning duties.

The Package

  • Seasonal contract until 8th January 2023
  • Rate of pay of £9.90 per hour regardless of age
  • Working on a rota basis with a minimum of 8 hours per week, although hours will be significantly more during busy periods
  • Annual leave which accrues based on hours of work
  • Staff pass so you can visit the zoo during your time off, plus complimentary tickets for your friends and family
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

Our Requirements - Seasonal Admissions Assistant

  • Passionate about excellent customer service and a strong communicator
  • Experience of EPOS systems, cleaning and hygiene, and cash handling
  • Confident, flexible and approachable with a proactive, “can do” attitude
  • Organised, with a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Comfortable working for long periods on your feet in an outdoor environment

Although not essential, it would be advantageous if your customer service experience was gained within a sales/customer experience environment, preferably handling customer telephone and email enquiries. An NVQ qualification in customer service/guest care is also desirable.

Flexibility in this role is key, so the successful candidates must be able to work up to 5 days out of 7 every week, which will include weekends and bank holidays as rostered.

Candidates must be available to start work on 2nd or 3rd July 2022.
