Or perhaps you are an experienced Bar Manager looking to benefit from a healthy work-life balance as part of a supportive team during an exciting period of rapid growth?

Our Organisation

The Cheltenham Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales Stadium.

Our bars located across our venues hold impressive year-round events programmes including live music, comedy, festivals, and exhibitions. We have exciting developments planned as we broaden our horizons, build new menus, and plan to grow rapidly over the coming months.

Although we have exciting plans, each team member means a lot to us, and some of our colleagues have been with us for many years. We strive to grow together, we truly value and care about our team, and we offer excellent training development programmes whilst encouraging work-life balance as part of a supportive team culture.

The Role – Bar Manager

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Commercial, you will play a key role in creating an enjoyable atmosphere in our bars across our venues. You’ll predominantly be based in the Garden Bar and the Event Bar.

Your creativity will be put to good use, as you will be encouraged to offer ideas to help grow our Food and Beverage offering during an exciting time for development. Your duties will include:

  • Setting and enforcing quality and safety control

The Package

  • Permanent contract
  • Full time hours, working 5 days out of 7 on a rolling rota typically working between the hours of 11am and 7pm, with some flexibility with days worked and option to have set days off, e.g., Sunday and Monday depending on business needs
  • We strive to look after our team, and our rotas are developed with this in mind
  • Salary in the region of £24,000 to £26,000, with the level dependent on experience
  • Career development opportunities, with full training and support
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Holiday purchase scheme
  • Fantastic employee leisure membership discounts
  • Discounts in all cafés and venues

  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest service, with excellent communication skills and a confident personality
  • Flexible approach to tasks and hours
  • Ability to multitask and work on your own initiative in a busy and fast paced environment
  • Eye for detail with exceptional planning and organisation skills
