East Midland Zoological Society has been running Twycross Zoo for almost 60 years in the heart of England in Atherstone. We are an award-winning conservation and science-led zoo, and are a registered charity, welcoming over half a million people every year.

The Role – Sales Coordinator

Reporting to the Sales Manager, as a Sales Coordinator you’ll be reacting to inbound sales enquiries by email, telephone, and face to face, working as part of a small but fast-paced Sales Department. You’ll process the sales of all Zoo products including school bookings, encounters and experiences, birthday parties and corporate memberships. You’ll provide excellent levels of customer service and build rapport with all stakeholders.

You’ll also actively generate new business by targeting schools and businesses, promoting all aspects of the Zoo and the work the Zoo supports through proactive telephone marketing. This will involve researching and contacting businesses that may be interested in the Zoo’s products, and then seeing the sale through.

You’ll use your accurate data-entry skills to efficiently process all bookings and sales, and make sure sales of Zoo products are maximised. Whilst mostly office based, you will have the opportunity to get out and about and take part in promotional sales activity to drive forward business at events such as industry exhibitions. Working with the team to identify potential new revenue streams, you will be encouraged to come forward with new and creative ideas.

Our Requirements – Sales Coordinator

You will have either proven experience handling and converting sales enquiries over the phone, or perhaps have experience gained in a customer service role, or maybe be a graduate with excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm to embark upon a career. In addition, you will also have the following.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and, preferably, knowledge of CRM or booking systems
• Accurate data-entry skills
• Ability to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of exceptional customer service
• A motivated, professional and flexible approach to working times and duties
• An interest in the Zoo’s work and purpose
• Due to the remote location of the Zoo a full driving licence and car is essential

Although not essential, a willingness to be trained as a first aider would be advantageous.

You’ll be working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, working Saturdays on a rota basis with a day off in the week. A degree of flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the organisation, as there will also be specific event days where assistance may be needed.
